Growing Vanilla Gold at Home


As the next expensive spices after Saffron, most of people call Vanilla as Green Gold. Growing vanilla beans is not easy, when you make decision to planting vanilla beans as Green Gold, not only need skill and knowledge to become vanilla farmer, patient also needed since we must cultivate vanilla such as a baby on the first year of plant growingages. But how about growing Vanilla plant at home as a hobbies? Vanillais an orchid plant, you able to growing this plant also at home by use pot container on your garden such as the picture below,




The material that you must to prepare in growing vanilla orchidsas Green Gold at home on your garden is, one vanilla orchid vines with must be source from the healthy vanilla plant without diseases, good soil fertility and high in nutrition which supported by sheep compost, cocopeat and last is pot container. Vanilla grows as a vine with climbing, therefore you must to prepare also steady frame for vanilla vines to grow and climbing which put insude the pot container. Avoid to places the pot container on the area gardenwith direct of the sun since vanilla orchid only a little of the sunlight.    




When your vanilla plant will get flowering? On the second half year of plant growing ages which normally on spring where hopes that your vanilla garden plant will get first flower. Yes, most Vanilla Flowering occurs every spring, and without pollination, so the flower will be falls and no green gold can be produce to be curing as vanilla beans from your home vanilla garden. Each vanilla flower must be hand pollinated within 12 hours of opening. On the origin forest wilds of vanilla plant in Mexico, very few natural pollinators exist, with most pollination being carried out by bees with the name Melipona. These pollinators do not exist outside the orchid's origin, and even within that range of origin, vanilla orchids have only a 1% chance of successful pollination with those bees. Therefore, all vanilla grown today is pollinated by hand.
